    Talent Development Specialist

    About the role

    The Talent Development Specialist will join the Talent Development department and play a critical role in leading and supporting all capability-building initiatives and activities across the organization. 

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Design and facilitate learning activities, including virtual and in-person training, on-the-job coaching, peer-to-peer learning workshops and any other learning activity as needed to achieve objectives
    • Design and implement tools to assess effectiveness of learning activities, including participant feedback, self-assessments, 360 feedback, on-the-job observation, and any other assessment as needed to achieve objectives.
    • Review, analyze and update all training content in line with organizational learning objectives
    • Manage communication with managers, teammates, and external training partners.
    • Support participants in getting the most from external partner programs, and support the Talent Development manager in selecting and managing new partners, where relevant
    • Modify and roll-out Manager 360 process for all managers
    • Offer manager-skills coaching to managers 
    • Seek out and facilitate cross-team learning across the organization
    • Oversee the maintenance of the Learning Management System and come up with new ideas for learning activities
    • Research on talent development issues and trends  and suggest new capacity building ideas
    • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Talent Development Manager

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in talent development OR in managing operations where coaching and training was a significant part of role
    • Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management or related field
    • Prior experience in delivering and facilitating training and coaching
    • Good oral and written communication
    • Must be proactive in their role to foresee needs and challenges and address them or consult
    • CHRP certification would be an added advantage

    Distribution Intern

    About the role

    We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Supply Chain Team as a Fellow – Distribution to help in the distribution of our end products.

    Key duties & responsibilities

    • Work with the Farmstar sales team to schedule deliveries as per the raised opportunities
    • Liaise with the Production team to ensure product is packaged, QA checks done and is ready for dispatch as per the sales demand
    • Source for competitive and within budget quotes from established vendors
    • Liaise with the Sales team to ensure that orders are serviced in the order of urgency. Aim to achieve FIFO supply balance between the regions and type of clientele (Key accounts, resellers, etc)
    • Work with the vendors and accounts team to ensure the soft copy delivery notes (pictures/scans) are received and linked to the order tracker within 72 hours of dispatch
    • Follow up with delivery service providers to ensure that the hard copy delivery notes are submitted back to the office within one week of delivery
    • Liaise with the outsourced vendors to collect and deliver the product(s) on the agreed time
    • Follow up the real time locations of the clients’ bound trucks and liaise with the sales representatives to ensure least TATs at the clients
    • Raise procurement requests and obtain Procurement Orders one week to the start of the following month inline with the sales projections for the next month
    • Record implement distribution related corrective and preventive actions in consultation with your manager

    Skills & Qualifications needed

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field
    • Proficient in MS Excel and excellent data analysis skills
    • Ability to make swift, calculated & informed decisions/adjustments in the event of unforeseen blocks in the execution of daily operations.
    • Hands on, organizational and problem solving skills

    Talent Development Coordinator

    About the role

    The Talent Development Coordinator will join the Talent Development department and play a critical role in supporting all capability-building initiatives and activities across the organization. 

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Preparing documents for training and ensuring that they are always up to date
    • Scheduling training sessions and initiating follow-ups
    • Maintaining timely and accurate communication with managers, teammates, and external training partners.
    • Facilitate and deliver training as required from time to time
    • Managing the Learning Management System and related activities including adding new materials and students under instruction by the Talent Development Specialist
    • Updating and maintaining the trackers managed by the Department to ensure clear record-keeping and timely reporting among other things
    • Filling and maintaining all relevant documents pertaining to training.
    • Research on talent development issues and trends as may be from time to time requested by the Talent Development Specialist
    • Coordinate cross-team learning across the organization
    • Ensure all teammates have access to learning materials as needed
    • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Talent Development Specialist.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree or diploma in  relevant field and/or at least 2 years experience in a similar or related role
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills is critical
    • Must be computer literate with a good grip of Microsoft Office applications and Google-Suite.

    • A team player willing to learn, adapt and work with minimum supervision
    • Excellent interpersonal skills

    Software Engineer – Short Term Contract

    About the role

    The Software Engineer – Short Term contract will work on the development of custom enterprise software to power and improve the efficiency of our rigorous processes across the network in line with the overall organization growth strategy

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • To design innovative new systems, tools and processes that significantly improve operations throughout the organization; ensuring that IT solutions developed provide optimal solutions to the problems they solve.
    • Developing standards and guidelines for software design and coding to be used by the software team.
    • Ensuring that our IT systems will scale in line with the overall organization growth strategy.
    • Leading of software development resources (in-house and contracted) on architecture improvement projects; customizing internal systems with off the shelf software.
    • Determining all of the sub-tasks required to successfully implement the agreed upon solution, to spec and on time.
    • Responsible for diagnosing problems in development, and coming up with several solution options for both the short-term and the long-term. 
    • Responsible for using formal de-bugging methods to identify the root-cause of issues, and implement a corrective action plan based on the analysis done of a best-fit solution.
    • Responsible for recommending best-fit solutions, languages, and frameworks for all web and Android projects.
    • Work with managers to set clear KPIs (quarterly and annually) and ensure work aligns to these goals/metrics and come prepared with documentation for quarterly review meetings with managers
    • Perform code reviews to identify opportunities for future enhancement to code written/apps developed.
    • Work closely with vendors to ensure projects move forward and stay on time and ensure that services are working as expected and promised, and raise concerns to mgmt if otherwise.
    • Manage fellows, partner school students and grads, Unvi interns and grads
    • As the Scrum master you’ll be  responsible for facilitating daily scrum for developers, reporting updates to daily staff meetings, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings.
    • Responsible for planning all deployment schedules, project roadmap timelines, appropriately assessing potential risks/timeline slips and making ongoing adjustments to task prioritization as needed.
    • Supporting in-house users of our custom software and problem solving.
    • Provide mentorship and general knowledge transfer in matters IT related to members of the IT team.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Computer Science/IT preferred
    • At least 3-4 years of FullStack development experience
    • Vast working knowledge and experience of Python, Node.js React, AWS, Django
    • Experience in building and deploying Android/Java Apps
    • Experience taking software projects through the entire software lifecycle (requirements analysis, design, implementation, deployment, post deployment support)
    • Development and support of systems that are critical to the day to day operations of medium and large organizations (ERPs, financial systems, CRMs, MRPs etc)
    • Demonstrable knowledge and experience with professional software development practices and tools including source code control, defect tracking, unit testing and code reviews.
