    Manager, Office of the CIO

    JOB PURPOSE

    To manage and support the office of the portfolio CIO providing leadership for the cross- functional management of information, reporting and technology across the portfolio.  Oversees functions such as portfolio IT strategy, governance, performance management and the implementation of WoW, methodologies, processes and tools across the portfolio.  Overall monitoring of strategy execution

    KEY RESPONSIBILITES

    Strategy

    1. Supports the development and roll out of strategic plans, objectives and prioritises initiative to meet the information technology needs of the portfolio.  Partners with the portfolio to ensure change programs are implemented to meet the strategic and tactical business objectives. Responsible for driving focus and prioritisation within the portfolio through establishing strategic planning and governance principles and processes
    2. Oversee the execution of high-impact, strategic programs or initiatives for the portfolio

    Product

    1. Coordinates and ensures alignment between the IT portfolio and the Business Line and or Corporate Functions product solutions. Facilitates continual service improvements by ensuring alignment with business demands and priorities. 

    Financial Management

    1. Responsible for directing the preparation, review and consolidation of business plans and budgets for the portfolio.  Develops specific presentations on performance and progress of the portfolio, for multiple forums, boards and committees.  Analysis, interpret strategy, metrics and spend to provide insights.  Ensures financial recoveries are processed, working closely with the portfolio Finance team.
    2. Takes on a task from the CIO’s personal agenda, preparing monthly status report that gives the CIO and other IT leaders clear insight into the portfolio’s opportunities and risks

    Regulatory, Risk & Compliance

    1. Plays a strong role in facilitating governance within the portfolio. Works closely with Strategy and Enterprise Architecture function and is accountable to ensure that tools, standards and WoW are implemented across the portfolio. Ensures integration and providing insights, oversight and governance. Focuses on ideas, principles and messages that are required to ensure consistency in doing the right things and doing things right

    People

    1. Works closely with the CIO and Human Capital partner in defining workforce strategies and staff development needs for the portfolio.
    2. Technology and Architechture
    3. Ensuring a consistent and strategic approach to the use of information technology across the portfolio and ensures a consistent, transparent and effective approach to the way the portfolio delivers value to the business. Partners with the CIO’s and the portfolio leadership in providing technology vision and direction for the portfolio.  Stays current with developments in new market trends and innovations in technology.

    Head Investment Banking, Kenya

    JOB PURPOSE

    1. Develop and implement the strategy of Investment Banking in Kenya and coordinate the origination and execution of investment banking transactions in a timely and professional manner.
    2. Be part of an integrated team to ensure that the necessary processes, tools and systems are in place to facilitate the roll out and implementation of the CIB Kenya Strategy and East Africa IB Strategy.
    3. To help SBG identify ancillary business opportunities in the bank’s entire value chain (specifically Global Markets, Transactional Products and Services, Business & Commercial Clients and Consumer & High Net Wealth).
    4. Lead and participate in strategic projects, providing bespoke sector and country insights.
    5. Professional interface between SBG, internal and external clients and government agencies.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITES
    Strategy & Leadership

    1. Participate in the formulation of the Country and Regional strategies and the preparation of the budget to ensure that it is in line with SBG strategy and identified business themes impacting Corporate and Investment Banking Clients.

    Stakeholder Management

    1. Proactively develop relationships with key external stakeholders including local regulators relevant to the business, product heads, key suppliers, key industry specialists and clients, and external regulatory bodies to ensure IB Team gets appropriate co-operation when required and that the Group is seen to meet regulatory compliance.
    2. Build and develop relationships across the firm with various stakeholders with the intention of breaking down silos to maximise business growth.
    3. Hold primary relationship with existing and prospective clients and handle all aspects of strategic client interaction including coordinating and execution of transactions

    Business Performance Management

    1. Works closely with CIB Head; Product and Sector Specialists within Standard Bank’s network to initiate, structure and close Investment Banking transactions.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. The successful candidate should a minimum of 10 years’ experience within financial services and experience in executing deals within two Investment Banking products (or associated roles related to Investment Banking).
    2. A reputation as a recognised industry thought leader in strategic development for banking services
    3. Networked externally and adept at building upon existing relationships and using these to shape proactively the reputation of Standard Bank as a whole.
    4. Can apply a high level of conceptual power to cut through complexity and establish a compelling and customer-orientated strategic frame
    5. Acquired ability to work with regulators and government agencies in influencing banking thought processes as well as regulation

    Business Analyst

    JOB PURPOSE

    Provide leadership support to the Bank in reviewing its processes to identify critical areas for automation, prioritising and consolidating initiatives into deliverables and managing delivery of the initiatives.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITES

    1. Conduct interviews and/ or surveys with business process owners and customers to define the priority list of business processes that should be automated or simplified.
    2. Contribute to the development of business cases for process re-engineering that will require direct expense or formal projects to be launched by providing a view on the effort that will be required and the types of resources that will be needed.
    3. Identify patterns in the processes earmarked for automation and package/ consolidate them into automation projects/ initiatives
    4. Review existing initiatives and other systems and tools in the Banks to ensure existing or technology under development are applied in all areas of the Bank where they are applicable and in cases where minor adjustments are required, these are scoped for resolution in the existing systems/ systems under development
    5. Engage with the Business users and other stakeholders to set up feature teams for the execution of automated solutions
    6. Develop a documented execution strategy for the initiatives and review the strategy regularly in accordance with the agile methodology
    7. Engage and provide guidance to external contractors or consultants that are contracted to do process design work on the process standards, tools and methods used in the bank. On request, perform quality assurance on their process documentation.
    8. Engage with risk and compliance teams to review the new processes from a control and compliance perspective.
    9. Track, monitor and document progress of all the initiatives to ensure they are executed in line with the delivery strategy
    10. Liaise with finance teams to ensure accurate projects cost codes are maintained for all the initiatives and the total cost of the projects is maintained accurately
    11. Perform quality checks throughout the automation process cycle; from initiation, implementation and post implementation
    12. Develop post implementation benefits monitoring tools and liaise with Business Owners and finance to ensure up to date data is captured post implementation review is performed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. First Degree in business or IT related studies
    2. Recognised process automation / change management certifications will be an added advantage
    3. Substantial experience in processes automation in the Banking industry
