    Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

    To inspect equipment condition, measure & analyze trends and identify the needs for maintenance (Mechanical equipment), taking into account production constrains without compromising the safety needs of the plant. Contributes to the best level of performance of the plant’s equipment      

    Maintenance Supervisor Job Responsibilities    

    • Support plant team in ensuring employees and contractors adhere to the Health and Safety Policy as well as adherence to OSHA Act in all the operations by employees and contractors.
    • Ensure compliance to our Environmental Policy and carry out maintenance activities in a manner that would cause minimum impact to the environment.
    • Maintain an in depth knowledge of the condition of the plant equipment on a continuous basis.
    • Ensure the planned inspection of all plant equipment and initiate work orders based on inspection results, including safety checks. In case of an anomaly, performs first an analysis and prioritise each action.
    • Monitors and coordinate condition predictors for all critical equipment i.e. Oil analysis, wear rates, Vibration analysis.
    • Follow up preventive maintenance schedules.
    • Validate and Update equipment specifications files and History sheets.
    • Carry out first level inspections on all Mechanical equipment in the plant.
    • Evaluate and improve the preventive maintenance plans as proposed by suppliers, create and update corresponding sheets.
    • Ensures systematic review, application and optimisation of lubrication program for all Mechanical equipment.
    • Carry out specific inspections (Basic vibration analysis, Balancing and laser alignment, noise, temperature, and other Mechanical measurements).
    • Preparation of daily work schedule for PM tasks in accordance with equipment needs while utilising SAP document and monitor equipment history files.
    • Develop and maintain a predictive maintenance program (Routes) for the plant and monitor progress and effectiveness of the preventive program and initiate any changes where necessary.
    • Counter check parameter settings for all the critical equipment and new installations e.g. Alarm levels.
    • Report Inspection findings and make recommendations to the Engineering management of the preventive and corrective work or improvements to be performed based on his analysis.
    • Performs on call duties for Mechanical Works
    • Other duties and assignments as necessary.

    Qualifications for the Maintenance Supervisor Job

    • Ordinary Diploma or Higher Diploma manufacturing Industry or Bsc. Mechanical Engineering
    • 5 years experience in a busy environment most preparable  working in a cement processing , heavy machinery, soda ash , edible oils etc
    • Good in Vibration analysis, laser alignment and balancing
    • Computer proficiency in Ms Excel, MS Project, Vibration analysis software, Word.
    • Good knowledge of Health and Safety Laws and Regulations.
    • Engineering drawings reading skills.
    • Experience in a full cement manufacturing plant will be an added advantage

    Quality Assurance Executive

    Quality Assurance Executive Job Responsibilities

    • Identifies trends and tendencies with respect to lot, product and type of complaint and determines the cause, draft complaints report.
    • Follow up customer complaints and prepare trend analysis reports
    • Analyzing customer complaints
    • carrying out market audits
    • Follow up on dispatched products returns, establish cause of returns and remedies
    • participating in internal and external audits (suppliers’ and customers audit)
    • analyzing competitors product monthly and presenting trend reports.
    • Any other duty assigned by your immediate manager or any other person placed in authority over you.
    • Ensuring that the laid down Quality management systems is adhered to at all times during the production process to ensure the product conforms in terms of quality, safety and Legality.
      Ensuring that the due diligence documents / records in use are current, latest version and completed in a timely manner.
    • Heading a team of well trained and competent quality controllers who are motivated with an aim of ensuring that product quality, safety and legality is consistently achieved.
    • Scheduling meetings with the relevant departments within the site to keep all updated on new legislation, new standards, and customer requirements as necessary.
    • Prime online trainer of staff to ensure a comprehensive understanding of standards, specifications, job requirements and use of equipment within the quality department.
    • Conducting routine refresher trainings to ensure continuous improvement/competency
    • Liaising with the QA Manager on QA staffing.
    • Report Product Quality and customer complaints to the head of QA
    • Liasing with the intake to ensure incoming raw materials conform to the raw material specifications.
    • Ensuring that the production process yield products that consistently satisfy the stated customer quality attributes
    • Customer complaint: Receiving, investigating and reporting back on all customer complaints with an aim of getting to the root cause and preventing re-occurrence. All customer complaints to be logged and trended
    • Participating in New Product Development and looking at new concepts that can be developed with the market changes.
    • Planned preventative maintenance of equipment/facility and control of foreign body risks
    • Setting customer service standards
    • Ensure adherence to HACCP and GMP materials
    • Maintaining safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment and resources.
    • Specifying quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers
    • Investigating and setting standards for quality and health and safety
    • Ensuring that production and quality processes comply with standards at both national and international level
    • Working with production and quality assurance staff to establish procedures, standards and systems.
    • Preparing daily quality and analysis reports and ensures that all the records are up to date.
    • Determining training needs
    • Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality
    • Directing objectives to maximize profitability

    Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Executive Job

    • Degree/Diploma in Food Science or Food Technology from a reputable university
    • Conversant with a good understanding of Milk processing plant.
    • Experience in HACCP and UHT quality systems.
    • Must have an experience in Quality Assurance
    • Advance knowledge in Product quality management /customer complaints,customer relations
    • At-least 3 years’ work Experience in dairy industry and FMCG.

    Production Supervisor

    Under the Supervision of the Production Manager, Direct, Guide and Monitor Machine Operators and Assistant Machine Operators in regards to Quality, Productivity, Maintenance, Costs/Wastage Minimisation and Safety Standards in order to achieve and constantly improve on the set productivity targets in line with Overall Equipment Efficiency.

    Ensure that the set Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) is achieved and maintained to avoid any stock – outs.

    Production Supervisor Job Responsibilities

    • Ensure swift and smooth plant start-ups and shutdowns through effective Supervisor handovers at the start/end of every shift.
    • Under the direction of the Production Manager, review production special orders and schedule earliest delivery.
    • Monitor process output every two hours to ensure that client product specification, quality and plant efficiency is sustained.
    • Initiative and supervise product changes to ensure product specification is achieved and maintained by controlling and stoppage of non- conforming products from further processing.
    • Timely generate material requisition, and material return notes to ensure sustained plant productivity.
    • Through effective production line balancing, ensure employee skills progression for maximum output and plant optimisation.
    • Make timely requisitions for machine maintenance during breakdowns and generate maintenance Job Cards.
    • Monitor and coordinate the implementation of 5s and GEMBA (Housekeeping).
    • Allocate and reallocate manpower on the production line and revising production schedules and priorities as needed in order to maximise productivity.
    • Investigate/ escalate customer complaints and provide timely feedback for management action.
    • Constantly undertake plant inspection and report any unsafe conditions and risks/hazards in line with Company safety and health Policy. Enforce Company procedures on Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs).

    Requirements for the Production Supervisor Job

    • Diploma in Printing Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity in a busy manufacturing environment.
    • Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Quality management process
    • Demonstrated forward planning ability.
    • Capable of making fast and sound decisions.
    • Leadership, analytical and communication skills.
    • Requisite knowledge of basic computer packages.
    • Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili (both written and oral)
