    Relationship Manager/ Subsidiary Account Manager (SAM)

    Job Purpose:

    • Contribution to the business growth targets through increased customer transaction-activity and deepening of customer share of wallet
    • Direct responsibility for building your local GSG portfolio through disciplined calling, and strategic positioning of the bank to the customers in this segment through increased product set, appropriate pricing structures and deploying the right solutions in line with customer requirements
    • Profit maximization through new business opportunities from new and existing clients through various marketing and networking initiatives
    • Develop both professional and personal relationships to solidify relationships with existing clients and prospects
    • Capture all the GSG names that are present in your country and encourage the outside Citi network to focus on your country
    • Working closely with internal partners across ICG to be the Best for the Client. The role is closely aligned to TTS, Operations, Risk and Compliance. There are many interactions with these groups and this role requires the individual to play a leading role in this overall management function.

    The GSG Relationship Manager is a key member of unique global relationship network that is widely regarded by global players as being best-in-class in terms of client coverage and delivery of banking solutions in over 100 countries

    The GSG Relationship Manager acts as the central client contact in the country and orchestrates the local delivery and execution of the Bank’s broad spectrum of products and services.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for directly meeting the annual business revenues, volumes, customer acquisitions, and cross-sell opportunities for the portfolio. This is through assessment and maintenance of transactions/relationships within the portfolio, as well as acquisition of new business through aggressive marketing of banking products
    • Develop and build strong relationships with key customers at various levels, increasing access to senior levels of the client organization. Manage organizational complexities to create a “win-win” situation for the Customer and Citi, and to secure the role of Trusted Advisor
    • Position Citi as the bank-of-choice to customers (existing, potential and prospect) within the current revenue strategy. For difficult customer situations where there is a risk of attrition, need to facilitate the matter and handle the same with caution to maintain the relationship with Citi.
    • Implement calling plans, call tracking, and joint pipeline reviews with Senior RMs / Bankers to ensure maximum deal origination is taking place across your client portfolio. Maintain a momentum of calling and feedback to ensure consistent customer experience for the GSG portfolio
    • Promote and maintain highest standards of controls and compliance affecting GSG. In addition, to ensure that the client portfolio is in line with the expectation of Citi’s AML and KYC policies.
    • Support other RMs / Bankers on more complex client transactions, and ensure effective back-up when on leave
    • Work closely with internal partners to develop innovative solutions to meet specific client needs and Be the Best for the Client.
    • Originate new opportunities for cross-sell and safeguard existing client business
    • Market and execute deals using a coordinated approach with relevant product partners
    • Build Citi credit policy knowledge and understand how it is applied to client transactions
    • Understand the dynamics of the local financial markets, banking industry and regulations and their impact on our clients
    • Macro-market knowledge: know the players, size of the market, market share and other financial indicators
    • Learn about the competition and be able to provide critical input to win transactions
