    Business Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    Quality of Home-Based Care

    • Promote and enforce the principles of medical ethics, Autonomy, Informed consent, confidentiality, Beneficence, and non-maleficence.
    • Ensure compliance with protocols, policies and acts relevant to homecare services and products including licensing, and other statutory obligations.
    • Ensure regular training of care providers in line with patients’ needs.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and investigate clinical quality indicators and clinical outcomes.
    • Maintain an updated risk register for all homecare departments.
    • Identify quality improvement opportunities and ensure development of appropriate quality improvement initiatives are developed.
    • Oversee the implementation of practices and processes to improve, sustain, and monitor patient experience, obtaining feedback, and complaint resolution.

    Growth and Sustainability

    • To lead the implementation of the Homecare strategic plan including expansion of Homebased services, new trainings, introduction and expansion of retail pharmacies, equipment rental, and equipment sales.
    • Lead the budgeting and planning for the Homecare Business.
    • Undertake activities to drive growth of the homebased care client base, increased equipment utilization and sales, and the setup a functional accredited training center for emergency courses.
    • Establish partnerships with international training associations for emergency courses to enable accreditation/certification as a training center for trainers and grow the number and quality of trainings
    • Establish consumer partnerships and relationships with insurance companies, NHIF, hospitals, and corporate organizations for homebased care, equipment hire, and equipment sales.
    • Establish distributor contracts with equipment manufacturers and grow the equipment sales.
    • Innovation and creativity leveraging on technology to increase visibility and accessibility to Homecare Services and products including but not limited to drug deliveries and teleconsultations.
    • Ensure efficiency through strategic and tactical cost management including supply chain management, stock management, and employment cost, to achieve the budgeted bottom line.
    • Implement processes to prevent revenue leakage across all revenue/product/service lines

    People management

    • Identify human resources needs and initiate the recruitment process for Homecare in line with the strategic organization structure.
    • Lead a competent and motivated Homecare workforce.
    • Ensure succession planning and continuity in all roles.
    • Facilitate a culture supportive of talent, professional growth, and accountability.
    • Performance management
    • Optimal staffing and manage Leave
    • Facilitate effective change and conflict management

    Branding and Marketing

    • Develop and execute the homecare annual marketing and sales plan
    • Recruit and maintain an effective and motivated sales team
    • Oversee the execution and monitoring of regular planned homecare marketing activities
    • Identify opportunities for valuable partnerships to enhance the homecare’s market positioning and brand equity.
    • Effectively utilize Avenue Healthcare’s mainstream and social media assets to promote services.

    Person Specification

    • A bachelor's degree in a health-related field, management, or marketing
    • BLS and ACLS tutor training will be an added advantage
    • 5-7 years’ experience in business development for any one of the following: healthcare, health insurance, pharmaceutical products, and medical equipment
