    Head of Global Grantmaking

    Position Summary

Teach For All is seeking a Head of Global Grantmaking to oversee Teach For All's Catalyst Fund and other efforts to provide grants to network partner organizations.

The Catalyst Fund is a vehicle for channeling global resources to Teach For All's network partners for various purposes and to help global donors that don't have the capacity to evaluate the diversity and breadth of needs across the network to nonetheless be responsive to these needs.

The Catalyst Fund enlists independent reviewers to evaluate network partners' applications for global funding for particular purposes, selects recipients based on these recommendations and further due diligence, disburses funds, and monitors progress. The Catalyst Fund aims to catalyze the growth, innovation, and sustainability of current network organizations and social entrepreneurs around the world through several kinds of grants, including:

    • Planning & Matching Grants ($7-8M annually) that provide network partners and prospective partners operating in low and medium development contexts with grants to give them the the time to further develop, diversify, and grow their funding bases while deepening their programmatic impact and developing a track record that will help compel other donors to invest.
    • Future of Education Grants ($2M annually) that provide network partners with grants to sustain and spread innovative practices in teaching and learning that have emerged in this pandemic era and hold promise to advance progress towards an education system that develops students as leaders who can shape a better future.

As we look ahead, we will continue to leverage the Catalyst Fund to advance the priorities of the network. Currently, we have two new planned programs:

    • Let Girls Thrive ($3M annually) enabling development of 1500 new teacher leaders where girls are particularly marginalized; and
    • Leadership for Learning through Displacement ($2.5M annually), a partnership with IRC to develop 750 new teacher leaders for crisis-affected communities.

The Fund is projected to commit ~$15M in annual funding in the coming years. In addition to Catalyst Fund grants, Teach For All facilitates ~$8M annually in sub-grants to partner organizations, typically directed by the priorities of partnering corporations and foundations.

The Head of the Global Grantmaking will report to the CEO, work directly with regional and global programmatic and operational teams, and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the network.
