    Manager M-Pesa Configuration Centre Of Excellence

    We are pleased to announce the vacancy for Manager M-Pesa Configuration Centre Of Excellence, Mobile Payments within Mobile Payments Solutions in M-PESA Africa. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Detailed Description

    Reporting to Principal Manager, Business Analysis, the role holder will provide line management and leadership to a team of geographically dispersed M-Pesa configuration analysts – the Centre Of Excellence (COE) for M-Pesa configuration. COE supports two business critical platforms – the mobile money platform (G2) and associated anti-money laundering system (SIRON). The role is to oversee and support activities to implement and maintain centralized control of configuration changes on Siron, for all markets. Additionally the role will support local M-Pesa markets and core project teams with Mobile Money platform expertise and consultancy to support platform configuration initiatives on G2.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership and management to a team of CoE Configuration Analysts.
    • Lead the consultancy services provided by the COE for M-Pesa G2 Business configuration for all markets and requesting projects.
    • Engage with market teams for best practice sharing and knowledge transfer on both SIRON and G2 workflows and configuration models.
    • Support the process for progression of Service Requests and Change Requests from markets and other stake-holders related to SIRON configuration changes.
    • Manage the team backlog and priority in line with agreed stakeholder expectations
    • Oversee the creation of service packages for G2 and SIRON configuration solutions to appropriate quality standards
    • Engage with Risk and Compliance teams on product risk assessment process, and adherence to Vodafone compliance standards.
    • Provide reporting to Group Compliance and market stakeholders on updates of scenarios, configuration and reports across markets, escalating issues when appropriate.
    • Review effectiveness of Watchlist screening by testing against third party assurance toolset (SWIFT) to ensure that screening in NAP is working correctly.
    • Maintenance of quality documentation on SIRON configuration per market.
    • Be the first receiver of requirements raised by Markets, Group Compliance and other Vodafone business areas.

    Job Requirements

    • At least 8 years’ experience with a proven track record of successful delivery in a senior project or operational role.
    • At least 5 years’ experience of team leadership, managing and mentoring others
    • At least 2 years’ experience in operational change management / change control
    • Experience of software development lifecycle is essential, in agile and waterfall methodologies
    • Strong understanding of the financial services industry (e.g banking, mobile money, retail financial services).
    • Experience working with credit and loan propositions
    • Strong process and analytical skills, able to identify solutions to complex problems.
    • Strong business and customer focus.
    • Ability to work proactively within a demanding environment, being a key contributor to a fast-moving product development process.
    • Ability to communicate and influence with tact and diplomacy.
    • Ability to build relationships within a multi-national, high-growth environment.
    • Demonstrable numerical, analytical and verbal skills, in particular well-developed written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Experience working within a multi-national team and serving customers from multiple countries would be of benefit.
    • Formal Anti Money Laundering qualification would be an advantage
