    Quality and Risk Management Associate

The Nairobi office serves as the regional coordinating office providing the required networking to facilitate delivery of services on a timely basis to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.

    Risk Management Unit has vacancy for a Quality and Risk Management Associate. The purpose of the position is to provide risk management services and promote adherence to KPMG policy and professional Standards within the firm.

    Key roles and responsibilities

    •  Reviewing engagement contracts including advising on requested modifications to standard contracts. 
    • Evaluating risk documents to identify potential conflicts of interest or ethics and independence issues. 
    • Conducting trainings on risk management policies, processes and procedures. 
    • Assisting with implementation of risk management policies, processes and procedures. 
    • Tracking developments in law and regulations in East Africa and monitoring internal compliance. 
    • Carrying out risk management compliance reviews and preparing reports to management. 
    • Undertaking research from legal and policy perspectives to support decision making. 
    • Preparing reports on various risk management areas. 
    • Responding to queries raised by staff in a timely manner. 

    Qualifications and experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Law or a business related field. 
    • 1-2 years work experience in compliance or risk management related work. 
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Secretary is an added advantage.

    • Ability to undertake research, analyse information, derive insights and construct well-reasoned evidence-based arguments. 
    • Ability to plan, organise and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and resolve conflicting demands. 
    • Ability to add value as a team member by sharing knowledge, generating novel solutions and presenting alternative ideas with tact and diplomacy. 
    • Ability to pay attention to details and produce accurate deliverables, showing concern for all areas involved. 
    • A high aptitude for learning and innovation. 
    • A self-driven and result oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision. 
    •  A high standard of integrity.
