    Senior HR Manager

    Primary Responsibilities: 

    Human Resource Duties: HR Generalist

    • In collaboration with the Senior Director of HR you will develop the key HR strategy for the Africa region to help it with its journey of continued growth
    • Work with the global HR team members to establish and maintain the Global Employee Handbook per local labor standards and Global HR standards
    • Ensure local employees and consultants are properly onboarded and provided with the appropriate training
    • Full responsibility to ensure contracts for our long-term consultants are renewed on a timely basis and all required paperwork is maintained
    • Respond to general queries from managers and employees, signposting them to the appropriate policies and procedures.
    • Active role in employee well-being initiatives in collaboration with Global HR Operations
    • Work closely with Global HR staff to ensure global HR policies are adhered to
    • Payroll processing for the Nairobi office
    • Maintain local HR data in our Paycom system for Africa
    • Main point of contact for health insurance benefits and be responsible for timely annual renewals
    • Support the Sr HR Director with the development and implementation of projects as required for the Africa region

    Talent

    • Train department heads and team members on the performance management system and ensure annual performance appraisals are completed in line with Global performance appraisal schedule
    • Lead leaders through the performance management programs and procedures, including but not limited to performance appraisals, people development forums, succession planning and individual development plans that enable the facilities to continue to invest in the building of the capabilities of a highly talented and diverse team.
    • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and leaders to identify staffing requirements needed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization and ensure the execution of local outreach activities to promote the hiring and retention of a qualified and diverse workforce.
    • Conduct the CRR Africa talent acquisition activities to include the following:
      •  Conduct Job analysis
      •  Advertise positions in the Job boards and other talent sourcing channels;
      •  Review resumés
      •  Pre-screen candidates
      •  Administer skills tests
      •  Interview applicants
      •  Discuss benefits and compensation

    Compliance

    • Maintain appropriate confidentiality of information relating to CRR and its staff and maintain compliance.
    • Adhere to Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy at all times
    • Lead the resolution of complex complaints, issues and concerns regarding employment practices originating from various sources, including but not limited to grievances and Ethics & Compliance hotline calls
    • Lead change management projects for the Africa region and ensure compliance with the execution of employee communication initiatives (i.e., compensation/benefit plans/policies)

    Qualifications: University graduate with relevant degree

    • 10+ years' work experience in HR management in a fast paced work environment. Experience in the INGO sector will be added advantage.
    • Thorough understanding of Kenyan and be conversant with Regional and pan Africa labor and employment laws.
    • Be a full member of the Institute of HR Management and hold a practicing certificate;
    • Have experience with HR budgets.
    • Good computer skills in spreadsheets, power point and word processing.
