Spiritual Services Manager at Tenwek Hospital

Job summary: 

• The Spiritual Services Manager will ensure that the spiritual, religious and pastoral needs of patients, visitors and staff are met effectively to the highest standard of care, and within available resources.

Responsibilities

• To take a lead and be part of the resource for the Tenwek Hospital in meeting the pastoral and spiritual needs of patients, relatives and staff. This will involve supporting those who are very distressed and in critical situations.
• To be familiar with, and acceptable to, all aspects of the hospital's work and personnel; to work across all outstation sites as necessary, to enable the delivery of a quality service;
• To take responsibility, in consultation with others, for the planning, implementation and development of the Chaplaincy Service throughout Tenwek Hospital in accordance with chaplaincy standards and Tenwek Hospital mission;
• To coordinate and manage the team of Chaplains and Chaplaincy volunteers; to recruit, induct and supervise new members of the team.
• To maintain an up-to-date list of contacts to enable specific patients' needs to be speedily met by the appropriate Spiritual Care Giver/Chaplain;
