    Supply Chain Intern ( Service Provision)

    JOB PURPOSE

    RBN Logistics & Engineering unit (Supply Chain) is piloting a Cash Assistance Service Provision (CBT SP) within the RBN Region. As the main player in the pilot, RBN Supply Chain has the responsibility to ensure the management of the overall service provision model, as well as to support and coordinate the exchange and accurate usage of the available capacity with a regional view over the demand. This builds on the benefits coming from the coordination of the Corridor Management at a regional level and it is intended to facilitate and enable more communication and information sharing, as well as to maintain the level of professionalism and quality of the services being offered

    We are seeking to fill the position of Supply Chain Intern ( Service Provision) based in the Logistics and Engineering Unit Unit of the Regional Bureau, Nairobi.

    Standard Minimum Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in the university and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies; currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master's degree) from a recognized university; or have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate programme within the last 6 months, preferably in Business Management, Business Administration, Project Management or related fields.
    • Currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master’s degree) from a recognized university, undertaking the programme mentioned above, and have attended classes in the past 12 months,
    • Fluent in English (both oral and written) is a must; knowledge of a second UN language, preferably French, would be an asset.
    • Training and/or experience utilizing computers including word processing, spreadsheet, and other software packages. Proficiency in Excel and fair knowledge of pivot tables. Office 365 proficiency an added advantage

    • courtesy, tact and the ability to work and communicate effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
    • Ability to interpret and analyse a wide variety of programme issues and statistical information, and to maintain accurate and precise records.
    • Ability to work systematically, use initiative, good judgement and to communicate complex matters both orally and in writing
    • Proven ability to work in a team environment and achieve common goals.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not All-inclusive)

    • Assist the Logistic Officer in monitoring of Cash Based Assistance Service Provision activities, ensuring service quality standards are met and areas for improvement and optimization in collaboration with Country Offices.
    • Assist in preparing accurate and timely Cash Based Assistance data, reporting and dashboards to inform on service provision activities, enabling an informed and consistent decision making.
    • Support in ensuring Cash Based Assistance Service Provision implementation and post-roll out support and guidance.
    • Ensure the integrity of Cash Based Assistance Service Provision data information in WFP standard systems
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    TRAINING COMPONENTS

    • The intern will be supported to grow their knowledge and experience in these technical areas such as WFP Corporate data, Internal systems and Country Office Operations.

    TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP depending on the duty station of assignment (i.e. Nairobi).
    • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
    • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education.
    • The internship duration is 8 months, full-time.
