    Deloitte’s Tax and Legal professionals provide both compliance and advisory services across a broad range of matters affecting businesses. This approach ensures clients’ most demanding challenges when operating in multiple jurisdictions are holistically addressed in a coordinated way, by subject matter and industry specialists, locally and abroad.     We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our Tax & Legal Department – Tax as a Tax & Legal Intern. This position will be based in our Nairobi office in Kenya.

    Job Description

    • Main purpose of the job
      • The incumbent will provide effective support to the Tax & Legal team while ensuring timely delivery of work in the allocated area.

    What you will do

    1. Assist with allocated tasks as per the current client portfolio;
    2. Assist with annual individual tax compliance for clients and ensure that allocated tasks are executed in a timely manner;
    3. Ensure all routine compliances are met on time in liaison with the managers;
    4. Ensure client take on procedures are completed well in advance of any project;
    5. Update of the Global Advantage trackers as necessary for all global compliance assignments;
    6. Liaise with clients to provide the necessary documentation, preparation of individual tax computations and tax returns as well as filling returns as per set deadlines.
    7. Any other duty that may be allocated from time to time.

    Qualifications

    1. A bachelor’s degree in commerce, Law or related field with a minimum of second class, upper division.
    2. Minimum KCSE overall grade of B+, with a B+ in Mathematics and English or equivalent.
    3. A professional qualification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will be an added advantage.
    4. Good analytical and organization skills.
    5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    6. Be a Kenyan citizen or eligible to work in Kenya.
