    Head of Sales and Business Development – MIB

    Overall purpose

    Reporting to the General Manager – MIB, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of revenue and volume targets for Sales and Business Development by promoting and selling MIB products in designated/ identified market segments in order to ensure revenue growth

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborating with management in establishing and recommending the most realistic sales goals for the company
    • Maximizing sales revenue and meet corporate objectives
    • Managing sales activities on major accounts and negotiate sales price and discounts in consultation with the General Manager
    • Generating accurate sales forecasts for annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.
    • Developing loyalty campaigns and prepare business cases for all proposed campaigns
    • Developing specific plans to ensure revenue growth in the company’s products.
    • Providing quarterly results assessment of the sales generated
    • Ensuring proper co-ordination of company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales results.
    • Working closely with the GM to formulate all sales policies, practices and procedures.
    • Assisting sales personnel in penetrating market segments by building good rapport with key decision makers.
    • Developing sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines.
    • Interpreting short- and long-term effects on sales strategies in operating profit.
    • Developing and ensuring implementation of effective brand management mechanisms that ensure responsiveness to customer expectations from the Organization.
    • Coordinating the development and implementation of a suitable Public Relation and branding strategy which positions the Organization as a leading insurance broker to selected niche markets
    • Coordinating procedures of identifying gaps in the Organization product and service, develop strategies to bridge the product gaps
    • Monitoring market share, conduct regular competitor analysis and drive goal setting for niche identification and market growth
    • Co-ordinating development of marketing strategies and promotional activities in the identified market segment.
    • Ensuring effective product launch and branding initiatives
    • Facilitating regular updates of information on Marketing, PR and CSR on the website.
    • Monitoring customer satisfaction indices and facilitate resolution of customer complaints
    • Implementing programs to improve and maintain the customer awareness culture amongst staff.
    • Building excellent client relations with new and existing clients and keeping an active network of contacts
    • Conducting market intelligence to determine market requirements for existing and future projects

    Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent in a business related field;
    • Master’s degree in commerce or a business related field is an added advantage
    • Minimum of ten (10) years post qualification experience three (3) of which must have been at a Senior Manager level
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Insurance
    • Must be a member of ACII or AIIK
    • Must have demonstrated ability to handle departmental budgets, resources, processes, projects and relationships

    Head of Operations -Majani Insurance Brokers

    Overall purpose

    Reporting to the General Manager – MIB, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of Majani Insurance Operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Overseeing the implementation of the long and short term strategy of Majani

    Forest Officer

    Position scope

    Reporting to the Wood Fuel and Development Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for Monitoring and evaluating KTDA/Factories’ wood fuel projects and ensuring adherence to stipulated land acquisition and development procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervising the management of wood fuel projects.
    • Develop procedures for monitoring and evaluation of forests and factory tree farms
    • Coordinating feasibility/economic analysis of proposed projects.
    • Participating in the review of wood-fuel land procurement and acquisition procedures.
    • Coordinating, monitoring and evaluating financial controls and economic factors around wood fuel projects.
    • Preparing timely and accurate reports on the performance of projects and recommending areas of improvement.

    Qualifications/Skills/Experience

    • Bachelors of Science in Forestry
    • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Forestry Management

    Manager – Audit, Head Office and Subsidiaries

    Position scope

    Reporting to the Group General Manager-Internal Audit, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing continual development, implementation and delivery of audit services for our subsidiaries to ensure improvement of management information systems, processes and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Developing annual audit plan and audit programmes;
    • Appraising internal controls and corporate governance processes in all the subsidiaries and head office departments;
    • Carrying out audit and develop audit plans and programmes for evaluating management controls over those activities for KTDA group of companies;
    • Identifying opportunities for improving management systems and processes and ensure we carry out relevant audits that assist in meeting the global organisation’s objectives;
    • Ensuring high quality audits in head office and subsidiaries;
    • Ensuring implementation of annual audit plan including approving re-assignments and monitoring resources and efficiencies;
    • Preparing audit summaries on issues and their status for General Manager Audit, senior management and subsidiary audit committee where necessary.
    • Performing manager review of work done and reports;
    • Ensuring timely preparation of reports for senior management and audit committees;
    • Approval of audit programs and plans;
    • Preparing periodic reports on audit activities against targets and KPI’s;
    • Attending the subsidiaries audit committees with the General Manager, Audit and assisting in presentation of the audit reports to the Board;
    • Overseeing quality assurance in the department as a whole in line with ISO procedures;
    • Reviewing and presenting reports to the subsidiaries heads;
    • Evaluating appropriateness of organization framework for governance, risk and control;
    • Ensuring effective and timely follow ups on agreed action points arising from the audits;
    • Ensuring use of relevant tools for business process analysis.

    Qualifications/Skills/Experience

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: –

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounts, Finance, commerce or any related field;
    • Professional qualification in CPA (K) / ACCA or equivalent;
    • Must be a member of ICPAK or equivalent
    • Certified Systems Information Auditor (CISA) or relevant certification;
    • A minimum of Eight (8) years internal audit experience, two (2) of which must be at Manager level;
    • Must have demonstrated ability to handle departmental budgets, resources, processes, projects and relationships;
    • Should have thorough knowledge of the relevant industry/sector as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting the Group;

    Head of Infrastructure and Security

    Position scope

    Reporting to the Group General Manager-ICT, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring provision and overall management of infrastructure and security services in the organisation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Developing ICT infrastructure and security solutions in line with business and growth strategies.
    • Ensuring the implementation of networking projects in the organization to ensure they are carried out according to the laid down standards and procedures.
    • Facilitating the development and negotiation of Service Level Agreements between the business and ICT, and between external service providers and KTDA.

    • Researching and establishing solutions on complex infrastructure and security problems.
    • Providing advice on cost-effective technology solutions especially in regards to networks.
    • Developing ICT infrastructure growth strategies covering the network systems.
    • Coordinating the implementation of networking projects in the organization to ensure they are carried out according to the laid down standards and procedures.
    • Developing work plan and budgets for the department for approval;
    • Overseeing the execution of departmental work plan and budgets;

    Qualifications/Skills/Experience

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: –

    • Bachelor of Computer Science degree, ICT, engineering or related fields;
    • Master’s Degree in business related field is an added advantage
    • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a dynamic business entity, five (5) of which must have been in a Senior Manager level.
    • Must have industry specific certifications (networking, CISCO)
    • Must have demonstrated ability to handle departmental budgets, resources, processes, projects and relationships
    • Should have thorough knowledge of the relevant industry/sector as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting the relevant sector
