    Data Management Unit Intern

    Main purpose of the job
    The incumbent will provide support to the Data Management Team while ensuring timely delivery of work in the allocated area. The role will be based in Nakuru.

    Job Description

    1. Assist in coordinating the data management activities at county, sub county and facility levels.
    2. Design and maint comprehensive information resources for programs and reporting of complex information.
    3. Design and develo project dashboards for routine data sharing and review in situation room meetings (SRMs).
    4. Participate in other activities related to HMIS, learn EMR installation and the provision of virtual/onsite support, project research, targeted evaluation, surveillance surveys and as well as aid in the training of system users.
    5. Capacity build on how to plan data management activities jointly with other players such as data management assistants and Ministry of Health team; and
    6. Conduct regular HIV data quality improvement activities, data collection and reporting.

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized university.
    2. Basic experience in basic data analysis, manipulation, and visualization (presentation) in MS Excel, SPSS, SAS, or any other Statistical Package.
    3. Basic experience in database development, web-based reporting systems, management information systems, health informatics, GIS tools, information storage and security, data quality assurance, mobile/SMS technologies e.g., ODK, and other relevant technologies.
    4. Basic knowledge in programming skills in Java Web (JSP and servlets), JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, AJAX, jQuery, Bootstrap, MySQL, Excel, Access.
    5. A high degree of self-motivation, positive attitude, drive, and the ability to contribute to a multi-cultural, team-based work environment.
    6. Minimum KCSE overall grade of B+, with a B+ in Mathematics and English; or
    7. Minimum GCSE overall grade of A, with an A and in Math and English.

    Human Resource for Health (HRH) Intern

    Main purpose of the job
    The incumbent will provide support to the Human Resource for Health team while ensuring timely delivery of work in the allocated area. The role will be based in Nakuru.

    Job Description

    1. Provide support on HRH recruitment including development of qualification summaries for advertised vacancies;Support in candidate communication, contract preparation and the onboarding processes;
    2. Preparation of HRH monthly timesheet reports for payroll processing and weekly pay schedules for sessional/temporary HRH staff;
    3. Management, update and tracking leave applications using the Tujenge Jamii leave planner for Human Resource for Health (HRH) staff; and
    4. Maintenance and update of program databases, filing of hard copy program documents and e-conversion of personnel files and shared documents for central storage/archiving.

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelors Degree in Business Management/ Project Management.
    2. Experience in community development/health care management will be an added advantage.
    3. Minimum KCSE overall grade of B+, with a B+ in Mathematics and English; or

    Grants and Compliance Intern

    Main purpose of the job
    The incumbent will provide support to the Grants and compliance manager while ensuring timely delivery of work in the allocated area. The role will be based in Nakuru.

    Job Description

    1. Maintain accurate records of grants files in both hard and soft copy.
    2. Updating of data pertaining to grants and maintain grants management tools.
    3. Build and track monthly reporting status by sub recipients and send timely reminders to sub recipients to ensure adherence to reporting schedules.
    4. Compile periodic reports for review and track approval status.
    5. Support in coordinating grants opening meetings, and recording of meeting proceedings; and
    6. Support in tracking status of implementation of meeting resolutions and follow-up actions, reviews and other compliance requirements that may come up from time to time.
    7. Qualifications
    8. Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
    9. Minimum KCSE overall grade of B+, with a B+ in Mathematics and English; or
    10. Minimum GCSE overall grade of A, with an A and in Maths and English.

    Monitoring and Evaluation Intern

    Main purpose of the job
    The incumbent will provide support to the Monitoring & Evaluation Team while ensuring timely delivery of work in the allocated area. The role will be based in Nakuru.

    Job Description

    1. Support the implementation of the Monitoring & Evaluation team objectives jointly with the team.
    2. Coordinate data collection and reporting of HIV care and Treatment/RMNCH program data and ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness within assigned sub counties.
    3. Coordinate the Monitoring & Evaluation activities at county, sub county and facility levels.
    4. Proper documentation of HIV service registers, provision of mentorship and ensure consistent availability of Ministry of Health and Program tools at facility level.
    5. Capacity build on how to plan Monitoring & Evaluation team activities jointly with other players such as Monitoring & Evaluation Associates and Ministry of Health teams.
    6. Conduct regular HIV data quality improvement activities, data collection and reporting.
    7. Work closely through a Multi - Disciplinary Team (MDT) approach that will involve the project’s data management unit team and regional M&E staff; and
    8. Organize and conduct joint routine Ministry of Health – Tujenge Jamii support supervisory visits.

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Health, Statistics, Health Records and information Systems, Information Technology, Demography or a related field from a recognized university.
    2. Computer proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, PowerPoint including advanced skills in at least two of the following programs: SPSS, Excel, Stata, and Ms Access.
    3. A high degree of self-motivation, positive attitude, drive, and the ability to contribute to a multi-cultural, team-based work environment.
