    County Solicitor

     Duties and responsibilities: –

    1. Be the principal assistant to the County Attorney;
    2. Represent or coordinate representation of the county executive in court or in any other legal proceedings to which the county executive is a party, other than criminal proceedings;
    3. Advise departments in the County Executive on legislative and other legal matters;
    4. Negotiate, draft, vet and interpret documents and agreements for and on behalf of the county executive and its agencies
    5. Formulation and revision of county laws;
    6. Supervise litigation, drafting and conveyancing;
    7. Preparation of cabinet memoranda;
    8. Overseeing the finances and asset management of the office of the County Attorney, instituting operational accountability;
    9. Overall supervision, control, discipline, staff training and development;
    10. Perform any other, function as may be necessary for the effective discharge of the duties and the exercise of the powers of the County Attorney.
    11. Overseeing the operations of the legal units and shall be answerable to the County Attorney;
    12. Reviewing periodic reports, ensuring compliance with national, regional and international legal instruments, identifying and acting on impediments and constraints to the implementation of laws and policies;
    13. Facilitating the setting up of structures and institutions for consolidating the administration of the office of the county attorney Act, 2020; and
    14. Facilitating and coordinating financial support for development plans, facilitating the design and implementation of prioritized programs, setting long-term’s goal for the development of the office, preparing cabinet briefs, papers and memoranda and advising departments on legal policy issues.

    In addition, the County Solicitor will be responsible for supervision of the heads of divisions/legal units, the implementation and the realization of the strategic plans and objectives in respect of the legal function, coordinating and implementing work plans for the division/legal unit, preparing and implementing performance appraisal tools, preparing division/legal unit budget, managing resources, overall supervision, staff training and development and ensuring accountability and prudent management of the resources and assets and ensuring compliance to the values of good governance, human rights, transparency, accountability, ethics and integrity.

    Requirements for Appointment

    1. Has at least five years’ experience as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
    2. Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
    3. Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from a recognized university;
    4. Post graduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law;
    5. Admission to the roll of advocates;
    6. Shown outstanding merit and ability in the legal profession;
    7. Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence and work performance and exhibited a thorough understanding of national and county goals, policies, objectives and ability to relate them to proper management of the legal unit.

    Registered Nurse

    Duties and responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

    • Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient’s outcomes;
    • Diagnosing common health conditions;
    • Providing appropriate healthcare service including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), Integrated Management of Adolescents and Adulthood illnesses (IMAI), immunization and reproductive health;
    • Providing health education and counselling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs;
    • Referring patients and clients appropriately;
    • Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans;
    • Maintaining records on patients/clients health condition and care;
    • Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment;
    • Collecting and collating data for research;
    • Evaluating healthcare outcomes on patients/clients and preparing individualized reports;
    • Conducting assessment of schools health needs;
    • Planning, implementing interventions and preparing periodic reports;
    • Identifying occupational health needs and making appropriate recommendations.

    In addition to the above general duties, the officer at this level will be responsible for care of patients (paediatrics and adults) who require critical care nursing. Specific duties will include:

    • Assessment and nursing care of patients.
    • Initiation of patient care and machine monitoring in the critical care unit.
    • Nursing care prior to and following specialized surgery.
    • Organizing for and coordinating training for staff on critical care.
    • Ensuring a safe environment for care of patients
    • Performing any other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor

    Requirements for Appointment

    • Be a Kenyan citizen.
    • Served in the grade of Registered Nurse for a minimum period of three years:
    • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community, Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution;
    • Higher Diploma in Critical care nursing from a recognised institution
    • Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;
    • Valid practising license from the Nursing Council of Kenya;
    • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution;
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
    • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010

    Terms of Service:  Three (3) year contract

    Radiologist

    Duties and responsibilities
    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: undertaking general diagnosis, care, treatment and rehabilitation of patients; carrying out specialized clinical care; providing psycho-social interventions; providing clinical services to patients; training, consulting and performing surgeries in various health facilities; carrying out forensic and medico-legal services, coordinating disease surveillance, prevention and control; coordinating health education and promotion; implementing health projects and programmes; maintaining up-to-date health information systems; monitoring provision of health treatment and care; undertaking health research; and analyzing medical reports.

    Requirements for Appointment

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from an institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    • Master’s degree in Radiology or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
    • Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
    • Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
    • Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution;

    Terms of Service:  Three (3) year contract
