    Pilot - Second Officer

    Brief Description

    Experience  

    To qualify for the role of directentry First Officer, you will need a minimum experience of 250 flighthours excluding any simulator experience. 

    Job Requirements

    Below additional requirements must be fulfilled at the time of application: 

    • Kenyan citizen,
    • A valid KCAA (Kenya Civil Aviation Authority) CPL/ ATPL, with an unrestricted class one medical certificate, 
    • KCAA English Proficiency level 4 or above,  
    • Valid Instrument Rating,
    • Multi Engine Rating,
    • Performance Rating A, 
    • Gas Turbine Rating,  
    • High school education with an aggregate grade of C (plain); and minimum of C- (minus) grade in Mathematics, English, Physics or subject general  sciences. 
    • Flight Management System and Glass cockpit experience is an added.advantage. 
    • E90/ B737NG Type Rating is an added advantage.
    • Minimum 5 feet 4 inches height requirement

    • Roster,Hours & Routes  
    • Permanent employment upon successful completionof training.  
    • A full roster with a mixture ofinternational and domestic duties from our Nairobi base with a minimum of 8 days off is planned in a 28-day roster.800 to 900 hours can be achieved in a year.

    Detailed Description

    Principal Accountabilities (KeyPerformance Area)

    • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
    • Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions.
    • Design and build technical processes to address business issues.
    • Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
    • Recruit, train, develop and supervise analyst-level employees.
    • Ensure accuracy of data and deliverables of reporting employees with comprehensive policies and processes.
    • Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining and engineering as well as modeling, visualization and communication deliverables.
    • Examine, interpret, and report results of analytical initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, technology, sales, marketing and product teams.
    • Oversee the data/report requests process: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc.
    • Develop and implement quality controls and departmental standards to ensure quality standards, organizational expectations, and regulatory requirements.
    • Anticipate future demands of initiatives related to people, technology, budget and business within your department and design/implement solutions to meet these needs.
    • Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective management of analyst and data employees and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders within and outside of the company.
    • Testing performance of data-driven products.

    Job Requirements

    Qualification (Minimum)  

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science or related degree.
    • Over 3 years’ experience in leading high performing teams
    • Proven experience in agile scrum methodology in project and team management
    • Strong skills in implementing both Kappa and Lambda Big Data processing architectures.
    • Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people, and projects simultaneously.
    • A Data Analytics certification by a recognized body/institution
    • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, PERL, R, Java and SQL are essential for managing data analytics teams.
    • Statistical analysis: Data analytics managers should have advanced knowledge of statistical methods and be able to perform complex statistical analysis on large data sets.
    • Data governance: They should be able to develop and implement data governance policies to ensure that data is managed securely and ethically.
    • Strong skills in implementing Master Data Management solutions, Data Lakes and Data Warehouses.
    • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act of Kenya (2019).
    • Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources.
    • Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units.
    • Experience and knowledge of statistical modeling techniques: simple and multiple regression, logistic regression, log-linear regression, variable selection, etc.
    • Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions.
    • Experience using analytics techniques to contribute to company growth efforts, increasing revenue and other key business outcomes.
    • Experience with big data tools, techniques and on Cloud platforms.
    • Experience with data visualization tools: Tableau, Ms Power BI and Ms Excel
    • Relevant trainings and certifications in Data Science, ML and AI
    • Experience in managing and/or implementing complex Data Science projects.
    • Aviation industry experience is an added advantage.

    Team Leader Technical Protection

    Brief Description        

    ManageTechnical, Integrity and security protective system that proactively preventand detect unlawful interference to ensure safe and secure environment forbusiness operations. Establish and maintain liaison with other aviationsecurity stakeholders and agencies in order to mitigate security threats andrisks.

    • Briefing, supervision for allocation of tasksand responsibilities for operational performance.

    • Accuratelycompile and update data on all threat trends.
    • Managingmaintenance of the CCTV footage.
    • Regularlyupdate the security information management system to ensure that it address thecurrent security needs and also capable of predicting the future requirements.
    • Regularlyproduce security reports and alerts to senior management to ensure thatcontingencies are put in place to ensure business continuity.
    • Ensuresecurity control measure put in place are implemented.
    • Ensurethat contracted security providers are appropriately deployed and supervised.
    • Maintaineffective network with other security agencies to ensure availability ofnecessary information on the security situation that could impact on KQoperations.
    • Managedeployment of third party security staff.
    • Preparedaily productivity report for management follow up

    Job Requirements        

    • Diplomaor Degree in security related courses or relevant professional qualifications
    • Advancedtraining in access control and security systems
    • Highschool Grade C and above
    • Knowledgeof Criminal procedure code, Evidence Act and the penal code
    • 3 yearsof relevant security experience
