    Research Administrator (Regulatory) - Mtwapa

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain studies’ compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations as well as all relevant local laws at all times,
    • Keep track of all study protocols at the various IRBs and the regulatory body with an aim of ensuring strict adherence to submission/reporting timelines,
    • Maintain documents as required by regulatory agency guidelines,
    • Organize, coordinate, and document all training undertaken in respect to the study and to file all the relevant training records,
    • Conduct periodic internal monitoring and audits of studies to ensure compliance with the protocol, SOPs, GCP and all the applicable regulations,

    Registered Nurse - Mtwapa - 2 Posts

    Key Responsibilities:

    Assistant Principal Clinical Scientist

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Identifying research gaps in line with the Institute’s research priority areas;
    • Development of research proposals in the relevant research thematic area;
    • Implementing pre-clinical and clinical research projects and/or supervise designated aspects of the work;
    • Conducting medical examinations and writing medical reports;
    • General diagnosis, care, treatment and provision of specialized clinical care for study participants;
    • Conducting community diagnosis, care and treatment during Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities;

    Vacancy Requirements:

    • At least four (4) years relevant work experience;
    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields; - Medicine and surgery, Dentistry, Pharmacy or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
    • Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Clinical Medicine/ Surgery/ Dentistry, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Applied Sciences, Public Health, any relevant Social Science, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
    • Developed at least twelve (12) proposals, six (6) of which have been funded;
    • Published at least six (6) articles in refereed journals with at least three (3) articles as the first or lead author;
    • Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • At least 7-10 years of public health experience in the management of diseases relevant to child health is required, including 3 years’ experience of working with ministries of health in developing countries.
    • At least 3 years’ experience conducting public health research as a principal or a co-investigator.

    Administrative Assistant - Kisumu

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Participate in preparation of budget on project supplies, workshops and conferences, study participants’ reimbursements and request on transport.
    • Document project vehicle mileage, track and update reports on vehicle maintenance
    • Work with the field team leads to request and make follow-up on procurement of goods and services through ERP and eRequestor. S/he must ascertain goods and services are delivered on time, with stated specification, standard and verify invoices against goods delivered.
    • Assist in verification of invoices and bills from the field office before payments are made.
    • Ensure frequent update of stock database to show both stock-in and out.
    • Coordinate all project supplies and field activities.

    Assistant Principal Research Scientist - Kisumu

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Providing day to day guidance in a specialized laboratory or given field of study;
    • Establishing a specific line of research including writing grant applications to maintain the specified research projects;
    • Providing full supervisory responsibility for junior professional and technical staff attached to his/her research projects;
    • Guiding training and development of staff and students attached to his/her research projects;
    • Developing of research proposals and sourcing for grants in relevant research thematic areas;

    Vacancy Requirements:

    • At least eight (8) years relevant work experience;
    • Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Biomedical Technology /Sciences, Microbiology, Parasitology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
    • Doctorate degree in any of the following disciplines: Molecular Biology, Immunology, Population Genetics, Genetic/Genomic Epidemiology, Molecular Epidemiology or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
    • Developed at least twelve (12) proposals, six (6) of which have been funded;
    • Published at least six (6) articles in refereed journals with at least three (3) articles as the first or lead author;
    • Strong hands-on experience with current laboratory methods in molecular biology/immunology in malaria or other childhood diseases in Kenya or sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Knowledge and use of at least one statistical software package, e.g. STATA, R, SPSS, or SAS

    Data Clerk (Community Interviewer) - Wagai, Siaya County

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Identify and approach potential participants for the study;
    • Provide detailed explanations about the study, its purpose, procedures, and potential benefits/risks;
    • Administer the informed consent process to willing participants;
    • Conduct structured interviews with study participants using standardized questionnaires;
    • Perform spirometry tests to assess lung function in participants (training will be provided);
    • Measure and record participants' height, weight, body mass index (BMI), and other relevant anthropometric data;
    • Accurately enter collected data into a tablet computer;
