    Director of Administration (Head of Tourism, Culture and Arts)

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Will be responsible for overall management and control of the department's activities in the county policies 
    • Provide technical advice on matters pertaining initiation, formulation, review and implementation of
    • Integrating National/County Development policies, goals and objectives into the tourism, culture & Arts functions. 
    • Coordinating and consulting with local, regional and international bodies on matters relating to tourism, culture & Arts as well as developing appropriate vision for the Department.
    • Provide technical advice on matters pertaining to Tourism, culture & Arts overall planning, direction, overseeing, coordination, evaluation and implementation of programmes/projects of the Department. 
    • Ensure the establishment and management of community cultural centers, art galleries, tourist attraction sites and promote talent amongst the youths in the County. 
    • Co-ordination and implementation of tourism product development, diversification and sustainability programmes
    • Undertaking market surveys and other relevant research 
    • Preparing reports and briefs
    • Overseeing the organization of regional and inter-county fairs, meetings, conferences and exhibitions
    • Maintenance of necessary linkages between the Department and other relevant stakeholders.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Served in the grade of Deputy Director Tourism/Culture or in a comparable and relevant position for a minimum period of three (3) years in the Public Service or served six (6) years in the private sector at a senior managerial position in a relevant field. 
    • A Bachelor's degree in any of the following fields: Tourism, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Cultural Studies, Creative Art, Theatre and Film Studies, Sociology, or International Relations or any other equivalent qualification in a related field from a recognized institution 
    • Master's degree in any of the following fields: - Tourism, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Cultural Studies, Creative Art, Theatre and Film Studies, Sociology, or International Relations or any other equivalent qualification in a related field from a recognized institution
    • Demonstrated competence as reflected in work performance and results 
    • Meet the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity

    Chief Executive Officer (CEO) -Machakos Level 5 Hospital

     Duties/Responsibilities

    • To ensure prudent management of resources for the achievement of the hospital’s mandate and strategic objectives;
    • To ensure that the level 5 hospital’s strategic plan is implemented efficiently, the performance contact objectives and targets are negotiated, achieved and reported in time and the annual operations plan and budgets prepared and submitted in compliance with statutory requirements.
    • To oversee and direct development and implementation of the hospital’s strategic initiatives and capacity building in line with goals and aspiration of Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the National Health Sector Strategic Plans.
    • To provide the needed transformational leadership of level 5 hospital to meet citizens’ expectation in line with the new constitution of Kenya.
    • To initiate, establish, strengthen and oversee inter-institutional collaborations and strategic partnerships for the realization of the hospitals mandate and strategic objectives.
    • To ensure that hospital’s staff remains motivated to discharge their responsibilities effectively and efficiently and in compliance with Human Resource Management Policies and Practices.
    • To establish and sustain effective relationship with Board of Management, the Government, Parent Ministry, Regulation Bodies, Partners/Collaborators, Funding Agencies, the Media, other stakeholders and staff in the interest of the hospital and its clientele.
    • To promote a culture of compliances with regulations, statutory requirements, good corporate governance principles and best practices in the hospital.
    • Human resource and talent growth: oversee organization talent strategy. Work closely with the team on long-term planning, incentive structures and infusing HR operations with innovation and creativity. Mentor and develop the senior management team. Develop an organizational culture that is inclusive and embraces diversity-where all staff, whatever their background and role, feel supported, valued, listened to, empowered and involved and where the needs of patients are put first.
    • Services delivery and quality: Bears ultimate responsibility for clinical governance, patient safety, compliance and overall delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services to consumers of healthcare facility. Maintain organization reputation as the highest quality healthcare hospital in the region. Create a culture of ongoing performance improvement, patient-centeredness and consistency of quality of service.

    Requirement for Appointment

    • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred
    • Professional qualification in advance management, health system management, hospitality, strategic management or finance.
    • At least ten (10) years executive management experience of significant teams:
    • The attitude and enthusiasm of self-driven, hand on leader; this is not a behind-the-desk job-you will be working hand in hand with a dedicated health team running a 24/7 operation and will need to respond to emergencies, meet deadlines, and inspire stakeholders.
    • Knowledge or experience in service industry.
    • Excellent financial and people management skills.
    • Ability to engage and communicate strategically and build strong relationships with stakeholders;
    • Working knowledge in computer application.
    • Public relations and stakeholders’ engagement skills.

    Senior Assistant Director of Pharmaceutical, Services/Pharmaceutical Specialist I

     Duties/Responsibilities

    • Coordinating pharmaceutical services in a health facility;
    • Coordinating medicine and therapeutics committee activities in health facility;
    • Developing and reviewing standard operating procedures for all pharmaceutical services in the facility;
    • Conducting research on medicine utilization;
    • Providing continuous professional development education to pharmacists;
    • Evaluating appropriateness of donated medical supplies;
    • Maintaining pharmaceutical inventories;
    • Participating in facility management committees;
    • Providing medicinal information in preparation of patient drug management therapies;
    • Coordinating preparation of annual work plans and ensuring they are adhered to;

    Requirement for Appointment

    • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B Pharm) degree from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poison Board;
    • Masters degree in any of the following: Pharmaceutical Policy Analysis and Formulation, Pharmacognosy and Complementary Medicine; Toxicology; Clinical Pharmacy; Pharmacovigilance and Pharmaco-epidemiology; Medicine Supplies Management: Medicine Regulation; Narcotic and Psychotropic substances Control; Pharmaceutics; Pharmacology and therapeutics; Pharmaceutical Analysis; Tropical and Infectious Diseases; Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Industrial Pharmacy; Health system Management; Pharmaceutical Care; Health Informatics; Health Economics; Epidemiology; Biostatics; Medical Statistics; Drug Design and Development; Clinical Trials; Quality Assurance; Radio Pharmacy; Public Health, Microbiology, or Molecular Pharmacology from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poison Board.
    • Certificate of Registration by a Pharmacist by the pharmacy and Poison Board.
    • Valid practicing license from Pharmacy and Poison Borad
    • Certificate in strategic Leadership Development Programme Lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Certificate in computer application skills from recognized institution and 
    • Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
