Job purpose
This role is responsible for providing guidance and implementing all appeals & grievance management activities.
Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise day to day operations in the unit
- Supervise, Coach and Mentor Staff
Operational Responsibilities / Tasks
- Analysis and review of issues raised in appeals in timely manner.
- Prepare cautionary letters to staff;
- Provide and update PSC on staff data, leavers and joiners;
- Collection of views on evidence tendered.
- Preparation of position papers on cases.
- Analysis of grievance reports and give recommendations
- Ensure that all staff members know what steps to follow and whom to contact in case of a grievance
- Follow up with each grievance by investigating the event.
- Preparation of documents for review.
- Capturing and preparation of minutes of deliberations of the Grievance and appeal Committee
- Seeking clarification from Departments/ Officers/Investigators on matters raised.
- Safe custody of documents and reports

Academic qualifications
- A degree in Human Resource Management or related field from a recognized institution.

- Diploma in HR/Post graduate Diploma in HR/ Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP)
- Membership to a Professional Body – IHRM
Previous relevant work experience required.
