    Technical Sales Executive- Solar System (Nairobi)

     

    Job Purpose

    • Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets.
    • Develop sales opportunities by prospecting, soliciting and identifying potential accounts
    • Building rapport with customers while providing technical information and explanations
    • Preparing and presenting quotations

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Identify current and future customers service requirements
    • Establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients in a position to understand power backup needs & requirements.
    • Provide product, service and technical information.
    • Establish new accounts and service contract accounts by identifying potential customers, planning and organizing sales call schedule.
    • Create service contracts.
    • Arrange for demonstration and trial installations of equipment products and services.
    • Partner with real estate companies, and solicit SWH business in new upcoming estates.
    • Prepare quotations and directly present to clients and demonstrate how our product meets clients needs.
    • Personally hand-over your clients systems, ensuring that you give basic training on usage.
    • Accurately diagnose problems with installed equipment's, giving feedback to clients as appropriate.
    • Monitor competitors products, strategy, new technology and activities
    • Prepare and deliver technical presentations including pre-sale technical assistance and product education.
    • Visit prospective clients at commercial, industrial or other establishments to show samples, catalogues, and to inform them about product principles and advantages/gains and/or long-term benefits.
    • Manage accounts debt collections and payments in line with company credit policies.
    • Prepare reports as directed by the Team leader: SWH & PBU, or the Sales Manager

    Strategic reporting

    • Document all sales activities, generate reports and keep records on transactions with clients.
    • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities.
    • Maintain a data base for contractors, quantity surveyors, architects, real estate agents, commercial and medium/small scale developers etc. who can partner with our organization
    • Contribute to technical sales effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and course of action; implementing directives and giving a one-point lesson (OPL)
    • Advise management on strategic issues relating to product lines materials, new proposals and problem areas.

    Key Skills & Qualifications

    • University Degree in electrical & electronics, renewable energy, energy engineering, B. Com/business administration with related professional qualifications in sales and marketing.
    • Proven track record in technical sales & marketing. Able to deliver beyond set targets (Kshs.3M per month)
    • Should hold Solar Technician Training for T1&T2 License & Solar Technician training for T3 License.
    • Thorough knowledge of SWH and PBS products/systems and installation, and all our product range.
    • Basic knowledge in troubleshooting of SWH & PB system installations
    • Up to speed with company policies and processes, including excellent use of Navision
    • A clear geographical knowledge of the region will be an added advantage

    Executive Driver

     

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer, the overall purpose of the Executive driver is to provide support with regards to driving of the Chief Executive Officer and Directors while ensuring that all vehicles are well maintained.

    Roles & Responsibilities.

    • Safely and timely chauffeuring of the Chief Executive Officer.
    • Maintaining strict confidentiality on all conversations and information heard during chauffeuring assignments.
    • Cleaning all company vehicles and ensuring that they are presentable at all times.
    • Ensuring that all the company vehicles are serviced as and when they fall due and always sound mechanically by keeping an accurate tab of the service due dates.
    • Booking the vehicle to the garage for repairs and collecting them after successful completion of work and inspecting that the repairs have been done fully.
    • Being the lead in ensuring that all vehicle insurance and inspection certificates are valid and renewed in a timely manner.
    • Ensuring adherence to the traffic rules and maintaining a valid driving license at all times.
    • Reporting any incidents or accidents to the relevant authorities and following up to ensure conclusion.
    • Ensure vehicle maintenance history records are well maintained and up to date.
    • Keep a daily travel log to record all locations travelled to, travel time and mileage covered.
    • Assist in compiling, sorting, and filing office records and payment vouchers as assigned.
    • Assist in the tendering processes in signing and stamping.

    Carry out duties in the office and any other assignments that may be required

    Minimum Qualifications.

    • Should hold a valid driving license.
    • Above 3 years experience as an executive driver

    Policy Officer - Climate Change

    Key Roles & Responsibilities:

    Portfolio Management:

    • Contribute to implementing and managing the (new) programme portfolio by managing key Netherlands funded programmes throughout the activity cycle, working closely with members of the finance and administration team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Support implementation of relevant centrally funded programmes.
    • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and learning agenda.

    Analysis and advice:

    • Support the delivery of Food Security, and Water and Climate team priorities as outlined in our multi-annual country strategy.
    • Providing technical advice and analysis on climate risk assessment, scenario development and practical ways of integrating environment and climate (adaptation and mitigation) into EKN programs and projects. This also includes ways to promote gender responsiveness and biodiversity mainstreaming.
    • On climate change and its impacts on the objectives of the partnership between Kenya and the Netherlands; analyze and communicate regularly within the embassy and to relevant policy departments in Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague.
    • Ensuring implementing partners internalize climate risks in programming and implementation and facilitate the use of climate risk analysis tools for informed decision making.
    • On the Kenya and Netherlands climate policies and political developments affecting climate action and the implication on programming. This is done in close collaboration with the regional climate advisor.
    • On opportunities for collaboration with like-minded partners (development partners, governments, private sector) on climate related initiatives relevant for enhancing food security, integrated water management and renewable energy through a systems approach.
    • On request provide advice and support to broader Embassy team also (including the Somalia team, trade and investment team and humanitarian team) on issues pertaining climate change adaptation, resilience building and climate change mitigation.

    Stakeholder Management and Climate diplomacy:

    • Build a relevant network amongst climate stakeholders, within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, amongst public institutions, civil society, knowledge institutions, private entities, and development cooperation organizations.
    • Represent the Embassy in relevant sector dialogue fora. (Help) develop effective climate diplomacy strategies for Kenya (and the region) and across climate-related thematic areas, work with local partners and networks in identifying ways to translate ambition to action the ground and the local (county) level, raise the Netherlands profile and provide feedback to HQ. on the ground and the local (county) level, raise the Netherlands profile and provide feedback to HQ Support implementation of the communication plan.
    • Using (social) media effectively, ensuring visibility of the Foods Security and water cluster activities, with a particular focus on Climate change adaptation and resilience building.

    Experience, Knowledge and Competencies:

    • At least a Bachelors Degree in Public Policy Climate Change, Food Security, Water or other relevant fields.
    • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a., government, embassy, consultancy or international organizations.
    • Experience with climate change analysis of Kenya
    • Proven knowledge of the Kenyan climate, food security, water and/or renewable energy sectors, including climate, biodiversity and gender mainstreaming
    • Proven knowledge of working in or on programmes pertaining the ASAL areas of Kenya.
    • Experience with project management, monitoring and evaluation
    • A strong network in food security, water, renewable energy, or the ability to quickly build this.
    • Experience in systems approaches that use a landscape or basin focus.
    • Experience in private sector development
    • Good knowledge of the English language, orally and written, both technically and for communication purpose.
    • Good social media skills
    • Good computer skills
    • Good interpersonal skills; ability to interact with people of all levels.
    • Ability to work well within a multicultural setting
