    Internal Audit Manager

    Internal Audit Manager Job Responsibilities

    • Perform independent, objective assurance and consulting engagements designed to add value and improve Cytonn’s operations;
    • Serves as the group’s Internal Audit Manager, performing professional internal audit work as a key component of the corporate governance structure;
    • Directing a comprehensive audit program including performance, financial, and compliance audit of all Investment and Real Estate projects;
    • Provide direction to the group’s management and staff on all audit matters;
    • Provide direction and lead when necessary in the development of the annual audit plan;
    • Maintain organizational and professional ethical standards and works independently with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment;
    • Review and advise on the entire company’s risks management in consultation with the Company’s Risk Manager;
    • Liaise with external auditors;
    • Reporting on the Internal Audit findings to the management;
    • Taking part in the planning, organizing, directing and monitoring of internal audit operations, including assisting in hiring, training and evaluating staff and taking corrective actions to address performance problems;
    • Monitoring departmental budgets and development and documentation of departmental policies and procedures;
    • Directing the identification and evaluation of the company’s risk areas and the development of the annual audit plan;
    • Supervision of Internal Audit staff including reviewing work done;
    • Communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations to the Management and Board of Directors;
    • Developing and maintaining productive client, staff, management, and Board relationships through individual contacts and group meetings;
    • Pursuing professional development opportunities, including internal and external training and professional association memberships and share information gained with colleagues;
    • Performing any other related work as assigned by the Management and/or the Board Audit, Risk and Compliance committee.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Requirements for the Internal Audit Manager Job

    • Bachelor’s degree in B.Com or any other business related degree, with a minimum Second Upper degree class;
    • Membership to professional bodies (ICPAK/IIA) highly desirable;
    • Full professional qualification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA K) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and/or ACCA;
    • Minimum of B+ in KCSE;
    • MBA or CISA will be added advantage;
    • At least 7 years audit experience;
    • Results oriented and ability to meet strict deadlines;
    • Good analytical and problem solving skills;
    • High level of independence and integrity;
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
    • Possess exemplary report writing skills.

    Internal Audit Associate

    Directly reporting to the Internal Audit Manager the Internal Audit Associate will be responsible for conducting audits and reviews in accordance with accepted professional auditing standards.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Serves as the group’s Internal Audit Associate, performing professional internal audit work as a key component of the corporate governance structure;
    2. Help in preparation of the annual Group Audit Plan;
    3. Perform independent, objective assurance and consulting engagements designed to add value and improve Cytonn’s operations as per the approved audit plan, from pre-planning to finalization;
    4. Developing audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives
    5. Evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of the system of internal controls, adherence to Group policies and standards and regulatory requirements;
    6. Providing advisory and consulting services to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Cytonn’s operations;
    7. Promoting dialogue and input from audit clients with respect to audit objectives, scope and methodology;
    8. Liaising with management to facilitate implementation of audit recommendations;
    9. Developing, disseminating and implementing auditing processes and procedures for the Group;
    10. Assist in the preparation of summary reports to the Board Audit and Compliance Committee;
    11. Performing any other duties as assigned by the Internal Audit Manager and management from time to time.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Clerk of Works Manager

    The Senior clerk of work will ensure that the interests of Cytonn Real Estate are represented with regards to ensuring that the quality of both materials and workmanship are in accordance with the design information such as specification and engineering drawings, in addition to recognised quality standards.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Report to Project Managers on coordination and supervision of Clerk of Works to ensure that they are in accordance with work procedures, time, and quality requirement
    2. Prepare proposals on standardisation of reporting modes and reporting channels across projects
    3. In charge of handling CoW department meetings and escalating any matters affecting the said staff to the PM’s/management
    4. Prepare standard templates for recording of daily site resource logs like equipment, labour, safety, materials Etc In conjunction with the Pm team
    5. Organise and coordinate relevant trainings for CoW
    6. Oversee works at all active sites on behalf of Cytonn Real Estate
    7. Review daily and weekly Clerk of Work reports
    8. Ensure job-site files, documents, reports and daily logs are well maintained; prepare periodic reports for the Senior Project manager as required
    9. Review contractor shop drawings and provide comments on conformance/non-conformance to architect
    10. Conduct on-site observation and spot-checks of work in progress
    11. Ensure contractors adhere to contract terms and specifications and reporting any deficiencies to the PM
    12. To be responsible for the inspection of the workmanship and practices of contractors and/or crews engaged in construction
    13. Attend site meetings as a Cytonn Real Estate representative or in conjunction with Project Manager
    14. Receive, record, present for architect approval, and maintain custody of samples submitted by construction contract
    15. Review requests for payments submitted by contractor and forward with recommendations to Architect
    16. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    REQUIREMENTS

    1. A grade of C+ and above in KCSE (or equivalent) with good grades in math and languages
    2. Diploma or higher national diploma in Civil Engineering, building Construction or Structural Engineering would be preferable. and above or any other relevant qualification. Registration at the Institute of Clerk of Works of Kenya will be an added advantage
    3. Practical Knowledge of project plan development and implementation
    4. At least 10 years of experience with a preference for managing big projects
    5. An in-depth knowledge of the construction industry
    6. A sound knowledge of building regulations
    7. Responsible and work under pressure depending on site program deadline
    8. Good organisational and project management skills
    9. Excellent problem-solving skills
    10. Excellent communication and negotiating skills
    11. Good written and oral communication skills
    12. The ability to liaise with staff at all levels
    13. The ability to liaise with staff at all levels

    Human Resource Intern

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Ensure all staff files are up to date;
    2. Monitor the Leave System;
    3. Assist in the development of various HR manuals, processes, policies and their adjacent forms;
    4. Co-ordinate/Administrate the various recruitment tasks from advertising up until onboarding the successful candidates;
    5. Co-ordinate staff insurance records and act as a liaison with the insurance company / broker;
    6. Oversee staff, subsistence, travel and associated cost management; Communicate to staff on general staff matters;
    7. Enter data into the database or HR system for maintaining accurate records;
    8. Maintain and developing the filing system of personnel;
