    Head of Data and Analytics

    ROLE PURPOSE: 
    Save the Children as a movement generates huge volumes of data that is used for multiple purposes. There are many systems and tools across the organisation that are used to generate, store and communicate data and information as well as pockets of capabilities and process that is focused on driving continuous improvement. As we move into our next strategy period and we are facing an ever increasing need to support the most marginalised and deprived children through our breakthroughs, the need to enable better prioritisation and decision making becomes ever more clearer. Alongside this, for many of our priorities for the next period, our chances of success are greatly increased through effective and efficient use of our data driven consistently across our movement. Through an aligned and forward looking data and analytics strategy and an effective and responsive approach to managing data and analytics supply and demand we aim to reduce administrative burden on our core operations, ensure we make the best use of data and associated tooling we already have available, improving the quality of data we hold on our operations and outcomes to enable better decision making and enable a continuous focus on driving efficiencies and continuous improvement. 

    The role of the Head of Data and Analytics will be to initiate and deliver on our Data and Analytics priorities for Save the Children to include ensuring we have a clear strategy and path to reach our defined outcomes. Initially the key focus will be to establish and mobilise the project team and setup the required governance to manage the required transformation priorities as well as ensure there is a robust process to effectively assess and prioritise data and analytics needs across the organisation and match these with available business and IT capabilities to meet needs in line with priorities and resource availability. Once we have the initial team and governance in place we then need to ensure a focus on scope definition to include understanding our current state, required future state and what needs to happen to close the gap between the two. The Head of Data and Analytics will in parallel need to manage the definition and implementation of the data and analytics demand and supply process and manage the implementation of the agreed interventions as well as the ongoing process through the life of the transformation, transitioning to Business as Usual and beyond under the guidance of the SCI CIO and associated governance

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 

    1. Drive the delivery of the project and associated operational processes including initial setup of the team, defining the vision and principles and putting in place the required governance
    2. Ensure Data and Analytics is a movement wide initiative involving stakeholders from across the Members and SCI and wider external parties where relevant and agreed with the relevant governance
    3. Ensure alignment and consideration with the 2022-24 strategy process that is currently underway including feeding into this process as required
    4. Ensure the Project resource requirements are understood and the required team is established including both internal and external capacity and expertise 
    5. Ensure reference groups are put in place to ensure the required input is received from functional SMEs from both SCI and Members 
    6. Ensure financial and non-financial benefits are defined up front including the mechanism to measure the benefits and this is used to track effectiveness of Data and Analytics initiatives delivered across the movement. This is critical to enable us to continually monitor and improve and to enable effective decision making
    7. Effectively manage the Project Team resources to ensure they understand their responsibilities, are held to account for delivery and their work is in line with the wider objectives and strategic alignment across the movement
    8. Oversee the completion of the required analysis, providing hands on analytical support as required and ensuring review and sign off of the completed analysis in support of the Project Team and associated governance
    9. Ensure the relevant SMEs required to complete the analysis are understood and made available to the Project Team
    10. Ensure impacts of the project and associated operational processes including impact on the wider portfolio, change impact and financial impacts are understood and included within the current state and future state documents as well as operational process definitions
    11. Ensure project controls including risks, issues and dependencies are documented and reported in line with the Portfolio Management Office requirements and any critical issues are escalated quickly through the agreed channels
    12. Create and manage a plan for the project to include the day to day running of the project as well as the core components of the role – team setup and onboarding, governance setup and ongoing management, current future state definition to include requirements and scope definition, demand and supply process and ongoing scaling, capability development and shared services where relevant
    13. Support the CTO to lead the governance process ensure sufficient time is available for review and sign off from the relevant leaders that are agreed up front
    14. Ensure the budget is defined and managed as part of the Project
    15. Oversee the set up and maintain the repository of documentation 
    16. Implement best practices and procedures in project management (in line with SCA agreed methodology and associated processes) and contribute to wider lessons learned and improvements so we continue to drive a continuous improvement agenda

    QUALIFICATIONS  

    1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    2. Understanding of a structured Project methodology (e.g. PRINCE2) or accredited Project Management training (APM or PMI) including experience leading a project using such a methodology

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    1. Hands on delivery experience working in the area of Data and Analytics for a complex organisation
    2. Experience working in a leadership role for a global Data and Analytics transformation including managing the operational process to understand and scope demand, prioritise via governance and match to available supply of capabilities and technologies where relevant
    3. Experience leading global teams to implement a transformation agenda
    4. Demonstrable experience and in-depth knowledge of programme and project practices and standards 
    5. A proven ability to deliver projects on time / on budget, using project management processes and tools including risk management, benefits management, financial management and quality assurance 
    6. Proven experience of using and leading change management activities including change impact 
    7. A proven ability to apply excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and to work collaboratively to deliver of effective solutions to project related issues. This will include taking on hands on analysis activities to support the wider team as required
    8. Experience leading business development including defining business need and objectives, determining options and effort required and translating this into a proposal to be submitted for consideration with the relevant governance bodies

    Supplier Management Officer

    CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

    ROLE PROFILE

    1. The Source to Pay (S2P) project will form a major part of Save the Children International’s (SCI) High Performing Organisation (HPO) programme. The project’s goal is to design, develop and implement a global Source to Pay (SAP Ariba) solution (“ProSave”) across 56 country and regional offices in SCI and to other SC Member organisations by 2022 - and to transform the current manual tendering, contract management, supplier management and purchasing processes into an automated solution.
    2. This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of experience in Source to Pay or Finance / Payment systems to grow and develop in this area, gaining experience and skills in the challenging context in which we operate.
    3. At SCI we seek to work with the most responsible suppliers and consultants, therefore supplier due diligence is an important business process.
    4. The Supplier Management Officer / Specialist will be the person responsible for supporting different functions at the SCI’s headquarters and countries to register their suppliers and onboard them on our new procurement solution through the various supplier due diligence steps. 
    5. He/she will be working closely with suppliers to shepherd them through the processes of registration and qualification on SAP Ariba working closely with the vetting, finance and procurement teams to ensure all supplier details are captured correctly allowing transactions to flow smoothly.  
    6. The role holder will support the review and continuous improvement of our supplier onboarding process and regularly update supplier enablement materials with any new system design improvements.

    SCOPE OF ROLE:

    3. Role Dimensions: This role will require working with a wide range of SCI suppliers, Finance, Vetting and Procurement teams and staff from multiple SCI offices.  

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 
    Supplier onboarding and set up  : As part of the ongoing functional support, the role holder will lead on onboarding suppliers to ProSave and driving external system adoption through working closely with requesters, support functions and vendors

    1. Work with suppliers that were identified to join SAP Ariba/ProSave
    2. Guide new suppliers through the processes of registration and qualification and ensure their details are reflected properly in the system
    3. Facilitate enablement kickoff and follow up calls with suppliers if needed
    4. Provide guidance for email inquiries related to the enablement process
    5. Gather documentation (incl. supplier questionnaire) from suppliers
    6. Collect and validate supplier’s data in SAP Ariba
    7. Work with technical team to ensure all mapping is done correctly before activating the suppliers in SAP Ariba
    8. Hold supplier enablement and training sessions for new batches of suppliers to help drive external adoption to the system 
    9. Troubleshoot supplier set up issues in SAP Ariba / ProSave

    Ongoing Supplier Enablement support

    1. Work closely with the project, functional support and training teams to ensure supplier enablement materials are up to date and reflect current system design
    2. Run refresher sessions for suppliers of how to use ProSave and transact with SCI
    3. Ensure supplier records are kept updated and work closely with requester functions to ensure all suppliers are registered and qualified on ProSave 
    4. Work with local procurement teams to communicate latest supplier enablement materials and practices allowing them to engage efficiently with their suppliers.

    2. Knowledge of IT systems (ideally procurement solutions) as a super-user or trainer
    3. Experience and use of procurement information and data particularly catalogues, supplier records and contracts
    4. Strong computer literacy

    HRIS Data Reporting and Governance Analyst

    ROLE PURPOSE: 
    SCI has implemented Oracle HR as their HR Information System. The system has a sophisticated inbuilt reporting tool which is required to provide powerful reporting and analysis to the business as well as supporting business as usual processes. We want to harness the power of this reporting functionality to provide greater value add support to our business.

    The key purpose of this role is to drive the efficiency of data and lead on the system governance to ensure it meets organisational need and to develop and maintain a range of reports that conduct analytical and data imperative work on behalf of Save the Children’s HR function. This role will play a pivotal part in providing management information about SCI’s people to support our HR strategies

    This role will support in building a data-driven HR department that is run and managed against tangible metrics and service levels, measured by key performance indicators, and provide reliable management information and insight to customers

    CHILD SAFEGUARDING: 
    Level 2: either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or they will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore, a police check will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or equivalent in other countries).
     

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:  

    1. Lead on ongoing data quality improvement efforts across all Save the Children International offices ensuring the ongoing integrity, efficiency, and availability of the data
    2. Develop and implement data standards, guaranteeing data is captured correctly, and creating methods for monitoring and reporting.
    3. Collaborate with HRIS, HR leadership and global HR Oracle champions network to maintain data quality
    4. Lead on the system governance to ensure it meets organisational need, recommending improvements and changes where required
    5. Ensure the efficiency of the data integration between Oracle HR and other SCI systems such as the LMS
    6. Establish reporting requirements and conduct analysis to deliver high quality end work to Save the Children International’s HR teams and line managers, sense checking data to identify errors
    7. Ensure that internal analysis solutions, tools & products are appropriate for current and future requirements.
    8. Develop and maintain reporting with Oracle OTBI and Power BI
    9. Maintain accurate, version controlled, documentation throughout all work activities, which is readily available to key stakeholders, and ensure the knowledge is disseminated
    10. Train HR users on how to use the simple reporting interface and dashboards and provide ongoing support to user groups on understanding and interpreting data

     QUALIFICATIONS  

    1. Educated to degree level / or equivalent level of experience

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    1. SQL (preferably Oracle SQL)
    2. Experience using Power BI and OTBI
    3. Advanced ability in using Microsoft Excel to summarise and graphically represent data. Also experienced in use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
    4. Strong written communications skills, excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
    5. Can-do attitude and proven track record of successful troubleshooting and problem solving.
    6. Demonstrate good understanding to data protection considerations in a data and reporting analysis role.
