    Head of Manufacturing Engineering

    Job description

    1. You will require: Minimum of 15 years experience managing an Engineering organization. Preferably experience in manual assembly operations, metal stamping and forming, and managing tool room operations. Must have experience in launching new products. Must be detail oriented, but also have a demonstrated background in speed of execution in supporting new markets expansion, NPI, and new manufacturing process implementations. Will work closely with NPD and M&S as part of cross functional teams.
    2.     Manufacturing Engineer

    Job description

    Your Your Previous Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience managing an Engineering organization. Preferably experience in manual assembly operations, metal stamping and forming, and designing tools for use by factory production. Must have very strong knowledge in mechanical CAD design (2D required, 3D helpful). Must have analytical and problem-solving skills, using statistical methods, direct input from production (Gemba), and be extremely hands on. Must be able to personally implement engineering concepts on the production floor (very important).

    New Markets Expansion Officer

    About the Role:

    BURN is looking for a strategic New Markets Expansion Officer to support its fast-growing expansion efforts across Sub-Saharan Africa. The successful candidate will be required to travel (40%) to support the setting up of commercial/carbon operations, as well as scale up existing operations in the expansion markets.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    (In order of priority/importance)

    1. Expansion Strategy: Maintain BURN’s new market scoping process, including spearheading comprehensive market assessments, liaising with industry stakeholders, sending sample products to new markets, and designing route-to-market strategies. Develop reports and recommendations for the Senior Management team on new market opportunities that align with BURN’s expansion, carbon, and new product offering strategies.
    2. New Market Entry/Scale Up: Assist with the planning and implementation of entry into new markets, including supporting setting up commercial/carbon operations, as well as scaling up existing operations in collaboration with local country teams. This will include travel to BURN’s expansion markets.

    About the Role:

    BURN is looking to hire a highly analytical Data Scientist to utilize data mining techniques and tools to turn data from multiple sources to valuable insights for the benefit of the organization. Key responsibilities will span across the entire data value chain from locating and assembling data, building datasets for analysis, implementing and interpreting mathematical and statistical procedures and creating final presentations, reports, and graphics. The successful candidate will work closely with the Manager and Business Intelligence team to deliver to all stakeholder expectations, including internal customers such as commercial, new product development, expansion and externals like investors, funding partners and auditors.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Data management: Work with big data/large data sets, manage and manipulate them through data programming and scripting tools like Python, R, MS Excel VBA et al.
    2. BI reporting: Develop BI reports, dashboards, and data models with the help of BI tools and MS-365 products and present consequent reports to management.
    3. Review and validate homegrown data as it is collected and from various sources, create, discover, and implement new data analysis, visualization, and processing programs.

    BURN is seeking to hire an NPI Technician to assist in carrying out the required-on floor machining, prototyping, and testing activities related to the NPI tools, jigs, and fixtures. She/he will work closely with the NPI team on the implementation of new layouts, new processes, and different engineering projects. The candidate will also support the NPI team on the new product launch activities.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Carry out the required-on floor machining, prototyping, and testing activities related to the NPI tools, jigs, and fixtures.

    3. Support the NPI team on scheduling the on-floor activities and following up on external suppliers.

    Carbon Officer - West Africa

    About the role

    BURN is seeking a Carbon Officer, who will be responsible for helping BURN grow and improve its carbon offset generation projects. The Carbon Fellow will be integral in contributing to BURN’s carbon offset expansion across Africa and offset delivery through a variety of global offsetting arrangements. They will work hand-in-hand with BURN’s carbon team, Marketing Intelligence team, and 3rd party carbon consultants to bring carbon offsetting to several innovative clean-energy products launching in 2020 & 2021. The Carbon Fellow will be responsible for researching carbon offset inputs, preparing and organizing carbon documentation, assisting in carbon project financial modelling, and reviewing and analyzing carbon data.

    The position requires strong organizational and research experience, as well as a strong technical background, excellent analytical skills, and practical business thinking. The ideal candidate will have hands-on analytical and research experience, strong attention to detail, and some hands-on experience with carbon offset or GHG reduction projects.

    BURN is seeking to hire Enumerators countrywide responsible for data collection as per field and survey project protocols. The enumerators will be responsible for conducting home visits to our ‘jikokoa’ customers to collect data and perform demos where necessary for a specific period of time.

    Duties and responsibilities

    1. Attend enumerator workshops to gain a thorough and clear overview of the context, objectives and relevance of the impact of the survey.
    2. Understand the manual content, the survey instrument – questionnaire, the survey protocols and design.
    3. Consult with trainers and supervisors for clarification.
    4. Plan logistics and contact the respondents to arrange the best time to conduct the visits.

    About the role.

    BURN is looking for an exceptional, efficient customer care representative – casual, to fill a parttime role. The successful candidate must have experience in customer-facing tasks such as customer care, direct sales and or client relation management. You will be responsible for conducting customer surveys’, data entry and analysis using Excel, maintaining customer database, identifying areas of improvement, and finding solutions.

    Duties and Responsibilities.

    Attend to Customer Service Cases using an SMS-based platform and/or customer care phone line:

    1. Help customers register product.
    2. Conduct customer surveys via phone or SMS.
    3. Help customers with warranty returns and repairs- sending repair information and directions, liaising with service stations to ensure proper repair.
    4. Answer customer queries and directing them to proper channels.
