    Logistics Manager

    About The Role

    Burn is looking for a Logistics Manager, who will be responsible for supervising the movement, distribution, and storage of supplies and materials. They are tasked with planning routes, analyzing budgets, and processing shipments.

    Duties And Responsibilities

    • Bid analysis of import and export quotes for inbound and outbound shipments.
    • Track all inbound and outbound shipments and escalate deviations from the plan.
    • Discussion and negotiations with goods carriers about shipment costs. Drive cost saving in logistics
    • Ensure accuracy in all export documents before sharing with stakeholders.
    • Ensure all outbound shipments are cleared at the recipient ports and moved to warehouses to avoid storage, demurrage, and detention charges.
    • Drive cost efficiency and reductions in logistics for BURN Manufacturing.
    • Coordinate and undertake documentation for all inbound and outbound shipments. Complete customs clearances, ensuring full compliance to any with levant regulations
    • Coordinate with the distribution team on the use of the company truck and vehicles for reverse logistics for inbound shipments.
    • Establish relationships with all government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure efficient throughput.
    • Undertake filing and proper keeping of records related to inbound and outbound logistics.
    • Keep in touch with changes in government policies and guide BURN in the implementation of the same.
    • Handle freight consolidation, cost analysis, routing, and scheduling logistics. Compile and validate the logistics component and reports of all shipments.
    • Understand the whole life cycle of the shipments. Follow up closely with the clearing and shipping agencies regarding the shipments and delivery of all cargo.
    • Analyze logistics challenges and provide solutions.
    • Meet and surpass set KPIs
    • Any other job KPIs assigned to you by your supervisor.

    Skills And Experience

    • Diploma Level or equivalent in Procurement, Logistics, or Fleet Management discipline
    • 5 years’ experience in Logistics and Operations
    • Experience in ERP systems – preferably Microsoft NAV
    • Strong Excel Skills
    • Experience in Customs system and procedures
    • Experience in handling import and export documentation
    • Detail Orientated and highly organized
    • Independent thinker capable of dealing at all levels of the organization

    Procurement and Logistics Officer

    About The Role

    Burn is looking for a procurement and logistics officer, who will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing appropriate logistics systems including warehousing and in-country transport capacity.

    Duties And Responsibilities

    • Maintain comprehensive procurement files, including solicitations, proposals, evaluations, award documents, official contracts, and correspondence on all procurements, following policies and local law.
    • Carry out clerical work, including typing, proofreading, and editing documents, correspondence, and reports for the logistics department or assigned
    • Liaise with suppliers to ensure correct can accurate documents are received for shipping and payment processing.
    • Prepare reports on procurement activity as requested
    • Responsible for daily monitoring of cargo shipment and updating pertinent reports.
    • Immediately escalate all issues that are found or deemed not to meet expectations.
    • Support the completion of all necessary financial month-end close and roll-over processes associated with the purchasing, accounts, and warehouse functions
    • Assist in compiling vendors’ documentation for payments (Invoices, delivery notes, GRNs, etc.)
    • Raise Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders for procurement of various items and services.
    • Responsible for preparing dispatch documents such as Good received notes, Packing Lists, Material Receivers, etc., for ongoing shipments and projects
    • Responsible for the review, verification, and reconciliation of shipping documents such as waybills
    • Assist in organizing transportation activities, including storage/offloading of goods, managing information accrued from point of origin to delivery, orchestrating transportation movements, and arranging for services as necessary.
    • Undertake supplier onboarding processes.
    • Arrange for PVoC inspection for all products where need be.
    • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
    • Arrange for PVoC inspection for all products where need be.
    • Work collaboratively and negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies, and initiatives and advise of the impact of change on purchasing and project activities
    • Any other duty assigned by the Procurement Manager.

    Skills And Experience

    • 3 Years Hands on experience in Procurement and Logistics
    • Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement or equivalent
    • Good skill in Excel spreadsheets
    • Experience in handling imports and export is an added advantage
    • Hands-on experience with ERP systems – preferably Microsoft NAV
    • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
    • Willing to put in extra hours to meet goals

    Procurement Manager - Electric

    About The Role

    Burn is looking for a Procurement Manager – Electric who will work closely with the electric team in handling the following:

    Duties And Responsibilities

    • Liaise with Electric department specifications for purchase of electrical, electronic spares, parts, and other PCBs.
    • Scout for, undertake prequalification, and onboard new suppliers for electrical and electronic products and parts.
    • Set KPIs for Toll manufacturers and monitor performance. Hold periodic reviews with vendors.
    • Follow up and ensure toll manufacturers meet the agreed production timelines and guaranteed quality standards.
    • Work with pertinent stakeholders to ensure delivery lead times for electric items are met.
    • Negotiate terms, and production lead times, and follow up for payment (as per terms) for with suppliers.
    • Work out estimated and actual landing prices for toll manufactured products and share with stakeholders.
    • Liaise with Procurement and Logistics Manager KE and International Logistics Manager for shipping of electric items to various destinations.
    • Planning and coordination of shipment of contract manufactured products.
    • Arrange for quality inspections for toll-manufactured products during or after production by a contract manufacturer.
    • Work closely with quality inspection companies and share feedback with stakeholders.
    • Arrange for PVoC inspection for all products where need be.
    • Ensure all documents are correct before shipping
    • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
    • Work collaboratively and negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies, and initiatives and advise of the impact of change on purchasing and project activities
    • Any other job assigned to you by your supervisor.

    Skills And Experience

    • 5 Years Hands on experience in PCB (Printed Circuit Board), electronic parts, spares, and technical spec items
    • Experience managing contract manufacturers and processes.
    • Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement or equivalent
    • Experience in procurement from Asia especially China and India with knowledge of freight forwarding requirements in Asia and Kenya
    • Hands-on experience with ERP systems – preferably Microsoft NAV
    • Good understanding of import and export processes
    • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
